Chopper Twirls Out of Control into Palm Groves at Frequented Southern California Beach
A helicopter flying over a well-attended coastal shoreline abruptly started spinning wildly, finally descending rapidly and smashing into a line of palm fronds as onlookers watched.
Footage shared on the internet capture the chopper starting to spin near Huntington Beach then falling towards the border of the shore, where it gets stuck between palm groves and a staircase adjacent to the shoreline route.
Rescue Operation Information
Local firefighters reported five individuals were transported to a medical facility including a pair who were in the helicopter and were “safely pulled from the wreckage” subsequent to the crash on Saturday.
Three persons on the road were hurt. Information on their condition were not yet released.
What led to the incident was not yet disclosed.
